
Therapeutic Expression Through Bollywood Dance group will run from January 26th to February 23rd (excluding family day).
The group will touch on the historical significance of dance in the South Asian culture, and explore how Bollywood films have incorporated this ancestral form of healing in their dance sequences. There will be experiential components including dancing circles (garba) and other traditional forms of dance used to build community and release negative emotions.
Kirti Dixit is a classically trained Bharatnatyam dancer and a Masters level therapist from Kenya. She completed her pre-doctoral research in England in the therapeutic effects of dance, and has graduated from the highest level Bharatnatyam training.
We look forward to sharing this unique experience and opportunity with you all, and will be offering the option to drop-in and pay per session for those who are not able to commit to the 4-sessions. Each session will explore a different emotion (Sadness, Anger, Joy, and Calm/Peacefulness) and do not need to be taken consecutively.
Dates: Mondays - 7:45pm - 9:00pm (January 26th to February 23rd, 2026)
Location: Xba Dance Studio - #6 1990 152 street
Cost: $175 for all 4 sessions; drop in sessions priced at $50 a session (if cost is a barrier please call to discuss)
Eligible for reimbursement through most extended health benefits plans.

You only need to register for the January 26th session on the Jane website (click link below) and you will be registered for the full program, running January 26, 2026 to February 23, 2026 (not including family day).
